I just received an email that my Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE has shipped (and boy, do I wish that name was shorter and a lot easier to type!). Which mean, of course, that it will get here on Friday, so no Black Friday shopping for me (well, except for at Amazon ... hmmm .. could this be their intent?).
As soon as I get a chance to compare the HD models with the Ipad and some of the other test units I have, I'll try to get a post together with some pictures. None of them outside, though, since so far they've all proven nearly unusable with the sun out.

Yes, I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of mine tomorrow as well. A little disappointed that it's not here to celebrate Thanksgiving with us, but looking forward to tomorrow with great anticipation!
I'm not really excited about Black Friday otherwise. I did all of my shopping for my Angel Tree kidlet yesterday online, taking advantage of the PRE Thanksgiving Day sales and eBates.
I am SUPER happy I purchased the rapid charge adapter and it arrived weeks ago. I just read that the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE (that is a mouthful!) takes 4 hours to charge with that adapter and 13 using a computer and USB. NOT so crazy about the Amazon cover I bought for my new baby.... It does NOT feel like leather to me and is mostly plastic. But the lure of the Kindle turning on and off with the opening and closing of the cover made me purchase from Amazon instead of Medge for Oberon this time....
I played with several covers on the paperwhite and the Kindle cover eventually won my vote. Besides the open/on and close/off (which some other covers now do, since it's a simple trick), it is super-slim and takes up less space in my purse when we are out. All the other covers seemed bulky in compariason. It also seems as if the front portion gives some protection to the screen, which the others didn't (it's a pretty stiff single piece).
Mine arrived on Wednesday. I'm typing on it right now. I am pretty happy with it so far.
